We’ve seen many an iPhone and iPad destroyed in the name of torture testing, including via molten lava and falling…from space. Now, we’ve witnessed the most visceral owning ever of both an iPhone 6S and an iPhone 6S Plus by nothing more than a dude and his bare hands and feet.

The serial smartphone torturers at gadget warranty outfit SquareTrade recruited top-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight fighter Luke Rockhold to take on Apple’s latest and prove it’s not necessary to go to the ends of the Earth (or the edge of its atmosphere) to do serious damage.

You can watch the results in the video below. It’s actually a bit of a win for both the iPhone 6S Plus and Rockhold, who manages to break both phones with his hands and feet, but not without some difficulty with the larger device. It’s clear there will not be a repeat of “bendgate” with these latest devices.

“The iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6S withstood 180 and 170 pounds (82 and 77 kilograms) of pressure, respectively — a 50 to 60 percent improvement in bendability,” according to SquareTrade.

SquareTrade also notes that dropping an iPhone on its glass face is still the most vulnerable way to ruin your new gadget. Keep in mind, SquareTrade loves showing you all the ways your precious gadgets can be destroyed in the interest of selling you a warranty for them.

You can check out another wrap of the more conventional tests done on the new iPhones here and don’t forget to read CNET’s full reviews of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus . Also, be careful if Luke Rockhold ever wants to shake your hand.
