Samsung to host Aussie app developer days

Are you an Aussie developer who’s considering mobile app and content creation, but feel intimidated by the 300,000 iPhone and 100,000 Android apps you’d have to compete against? Maybe your idea would be better built on Samsung’s Bada operating system?

To coincide with the recent launch of Samsung’s Bada OS in Australia, the Korean phone maker is hosting two developer days in August to show off some of the key advantages of the platform and to discuss opportunity for local devs. Operating in Brisbane on 2 August and Sydney on 4 August, the Bada developer days will give an overview of what’s required to program for the platform and Samsung’s application certification process for getting new apps on the Samsung Apps store-front.

To sweeten the deal, all registered participants go into the draw to win a brand-spanking new Samsung 3D TV, and the company will also discuss the opportunity for developers to enter the global Bada Developer Challenge offering a US$2.7 million prize pool with a US$300,000 first prize.
