Samsung’s first phone to run Android 2.1 has been spotted in the wild. Samsung Hub has pictures of the SHW-M100S being shown off in Korea.
It packs a giant 94mm (3.7-inch) AMOLED touchscreen, displaying Samsung’s TouchWiz (giggle) user interface. Inside is an 800MHz processor, 802.11n Wi-Fi and GPS.
The 5-megapixel camera also shoots 720p high-definition video, and plays back DivX video content. The handset includes a mobile digital TV tuner, but we imagine that feature will be limited to Korea. If the M100S does arrive in the UK following the March Korean launch, it’ll probably get a new name — something dynamic like Galaxy or Portal. We suggest the Samsung Bisque, Samsung Demivolte or Samsung Poop Deck.
With phone fiesta Mobile World Congress just a week away, we expect to see a bunch of Android 2.1 handsets breaking cover. We’ve already heard rumours of the HTC Bravo and Supersonic. Crave is jetting over to Barcelona to get up close and personal with all the new mobiles, apps and features, so stick with us for all your phone news.
