Samsung has confirmed that the K Zoom will be coming to Australia later this year.

The Samsung K Zoom is the next hybrid phone-camera model from the manufacturer, following in the footsteps of the S4 Zoom released last year. The K Zoom, however, is a much more refined model that appears to marry the smartphone and camera experience in a more streamlined way.
It will run Android KitKat 4.4 and feature a 1/2.3-inch backside-illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor. In front of the sensor sits a 10x optical zoom lens with a maximum aperture range of f/3.1-6.3. The K Zoom will also sport optical image stabilisation, plus a number of more quirky modes including Selfie Alarm which helps you take self-portraits more easily.
Overall, the look and feel echoes the Galaxy S5, complete with the TouchWiz launcher and dimpled back panel. The K Zoom gets 1080/60p video recording and a lower resolution screen compared to its smartphone cousin (720p).
“Samsung Electronics Australia is excited to confirm that the Galaxy K zoom will be launched in Australia in the coming months,” said Craig Gillespie, business manager, Digital Imaging Division, Samsung Electronics Australia in a statement. Local pricing will be announced closer to the launch date, along with information on retailers that will stock the K Zoom.
