Verizon Wireless is offering a new phone starting today. The Samsung Gusto is an entry-level metallic gray flip phone that features noise suppression technology, Bluetooth, and messaging tools.
There’s a 2-inch internal display and a VGA camera with a night mode. Text, picture, and voice messaging are joined by instant messaging, chat, e-mail, and Internet access.
In addition, there are voice commands, a driving mode that reads out caller information, and the typical organizer toolset that includes a calendar and various clocks. Interesting extras include Verizon’s VZ Navigator, Bing search, and a fake call tool to bail you out of an awkward situation.
You can pick up the Samsung Gusto today if you get it from Verizon’s Web site. The Gusto is free after an online discount and a new two-year contract.
The Gusto will arrive in Verizon’s retail stores in the “coming weeks” for $19.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, also with a new contract.
