T-Mobile is having a hard time keeping its upcoming smartphones under wraps. Yesterday, it was the LG Doubleplay and today it appears we have the official press images of the forthcoming Samsung Exhibit II 4G.
Based on early details, the handset looks to be a rebranded version of Samsung’s new Galaxy W series. Specifications are said to include Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1.4GHz (single-core) processor, a 3.7-inch WVGA display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and support for 3G HSPA+.
Once listed with a code name of Ancora, the Exhibit II 4G is expected to arrive on November 2 alongside a number of other Android devices. As is the case with other U.S. variations of Samsung’s smartphones, the handset has undergone a slight design change, dropping the singular Home button in favor of the familiar four buttons across the bottom.
The touch-only Exhibit II 4G should do well among the younger demographic, thanks to an anticipated $99 price tag and sleek design. I haven’t seen any numbers on how well the first Exhibit 4G is selling, but replacing it a mere five months later tells me it’s not exactly flying off the shelves.
