Samsung’s gigantic curvy smartphone — the Galaxy S6 Edge+ — goes on sale in the UK on 4 September, the South Korean tech giant has confirmed.
The massive mobile, unveiled today, follows on from the Galaxy S6 Edge , which was released earlier this year and featured a display with two curved sides, for an unusual look.
The revamped model repeats the trick, but has a larger 5.7-inch display, an increase of 0.6 inches on the older model. Samsung enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of the smartphone pile with its high-powered, feature-packed handsets, but has seen profits slide in the last year as competition in the low-end market heats up.
Samsung says its newest toy will be available to pre-order from 18 August, ahead of a proper release in early September. EE, Three and O2 have all confirmed they’ll be selling the S6 Edge+.

No sign of the Galaxy Note 5
The S6 Edge+ isn’t the only new mobile from Samsung however, which today also showed off the fifth iteration of its popular Galaxy Note series . The Note 5 has a more industrial, metallic look and also boasts a 5.7-inch screen, but Samsung confirmed today that it has no plans to put the Note 5 on sale in the UK.
That’s a departure from previous Note models, and is sure to disappoint some UK fans of the Note’s stylus-wielding powers. For now it appears only the US and Asia will be able to snap up the fifth Note, but here’s hoping Samsung is plotting a wider release further down the line.
