Samsung Galaxy S5 leak points to 5.2

With just weeks to go before the Samsung Galaxy S5 is revealed, new rumours give us a glimpse of what we can expect from the hotly-tipped sequel to the Galaxy S4.

Noted Russian Twitter tipster
Eldar Murtazin has revealed what he believes will be the S5’s details. So what are we talking?

We’re talking a Super AMOLED screen, measuring 5.24 inches corner-to-corner, with a resolution of 1,440×2,560. We’re talking 560 pixels per inch — more than the iPhone 5S‘ 326ppi and the HTC One‘s 446ppi.

We’re talking either an Exynos 6 processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, depending where you are, backed with 3GB of RAM. We’re talking a choice of 32 or 64GB storage and a 3,200mAh battery. And we’re talking a 16-megapixel main camera with a 3.2-megapixel snapper for video chat.

Official details are yet to be revealed, and we still don’t know what the new flagship phone will look like. A new Black Edition of the S4, pictured above, borrows the Galaxy Note 3‘s faux-leather case, replacing the shiny, glossy plastic back of the current model and perhaps hinting that the new phone will also be decked out in Note-worthy fake leather too.

We’ll find out on 24 February at Samsung Unpacked in Barcelona, the grand unveiling of what is almost certainly going to be the S5. I’ll be there with the CNET away team to bring you the first news, previews and first impressions of the S5 and all the coolest kit at MWC. And in the meantime, hit play on our video to find out what we think will be the S5’s killer features:
