Samsung Galaxy S4 coming to TalkTalk too on 26 April

TalkTalk has joined the fleet of UK networks confirmed to be flogging the Samsung Galaxy S4, with the phone, broadband and TV company promising to have stock of the 5-inch super-phone ready to go next Friday.

That’s 26 April, the same date that other operators will start selling the Galaxy S4. TalkTalk says you’ll be able to get the much-anticipated mobile with no upfront cost for £30 per month, though you’ll want to make sure a low-cost tariff like that gets you enough data, minutes and texts.

If you’re keen to throw down your cash as soon as possible, pre-order kicks off on Monday 22 April. I’d advise waiting until we’ve had a chance to give the S4 the full review treatment though — it’s shaping up to be a blinder, but you can never be too careful.

The Galaxy S4 is Samsung’s follow-up to last year’s Galaxy S3, and brings a 5-inch, 1080p display, 13-megapixel camera and a powerful processor to the table.

That quad-core chip has been the source of some controversy though, as some nations will be getting an octa-core variant that uses one of Samsung’s own-brand processors. The UK must settle for four cores, however.

Reported benchmarks suggest the four-core option — while blindingly fast — may not be as speedy as its more powerful cousin.

TalkTalk meanwhile is frequently named the most-complained-about broadband provider in the UK. Numbers of complaints have fallen steadily though, so perhaps the CamelCased company is getting its act together.

Are you with TalkTalk? Are you happy with the service, or thinking of switching? And will you be snapping up the Galaxy S4? Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
