Samsung Galaxy S2 teased ahead of MWC launch

“Evolution is Fate.” We don’t even know what that means, but we do know the sequel to the blockbusting Samsung Galaxy S is only weeks away from being revealed. The S2 has been teased in the invitation for Samsung’s launch event on 13 February.

The Samsung Galaxy Successor is codenamed ‘Seine’. It’s rumoured to pack a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 Orion processor with 1GB of RAM.

On the other hand, Samsung has reportedly placed a big order for Nvidia Tegra 2 chips, so there’s a chance that the S2 could be be Tegra-powered. It’s more likely, though, that Tegra will be saved for the next Galaxy Tab when it rocks Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The S2 will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The S2 also sports a hefty 8-megapixel camera that shoots 1080p high-definition video. The 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen offers WVGA resolution.

The S2 will be revealed at phonefest Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Crave will be there in force to bring you all the latest news and hands-on previews of all the cutting-edge new phones and tablets, so keep your eyeballs locked on CNET UK.

In the meantime, there’s still life in the current Galaxy S. Korean director Kim Dae-Woo has shot the short film Age of Milk on a Galaxy S, in hi-def 720p. Here’s the first part:

Age of Milk is the latest smart-phone opus after
Oldboy auteur Park Chan-wook recently made a film utilising several iPhone 4s. The trend started with the Nokia N8, which was used to film Pamela Anderson and Dev Patel in short comedy The Commuter.
