Samsung Galaxy S III said to be quad

Samsung’s “Mobile Unpack” event in London is only a few weeks away, and many of us here at CNET can hardly wait–especially when it comes to the debut of the Galaxy S III (or whatever the successor of the Samsung Galaxy S II will be called).

Past ruumors have already suggest a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and eye-tracking.

In addition, previous speculation of a quad-core Exynos chipset have been recently corroborated.

According to the Verge, a source has confirmed that the Galaxy S III will indeed sport a quad-core processor.

“We haven’t gotten a lock on exactly which quad-core processor will be in this phone,” it reported, “but it seems like a reasonable guess that it’ll be the same 32nm Cortex-A9 based Exynos teased earlier this year.”

The chipset is said to quicken processor and camera speeds, as well as improve battery life.
