Samsung Galaxy Note now in white

It’ll be all white on the Note. The Samsung Galaxy Note oversized smart phone — or undersized tablet, whichever you prefer — is now available in white.

The Note packs a medium-sized screen somewhere between phone and tablet. Pop down to John Lewis to see if the white Note hits the right notes.

The Galaxy Note hit shop shelves back in November, available in any colour as long as it was black. Since then it’s reported to have shipped more than 1 million units.

Now’s a good time to take Note, as it’s getting an update to the next generation of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, sometime in the next two months or so.

The Galaxy Note sports a mahoosive 5.3-inch high-definition Super AMOLED screen, making it bigger than a smart phone, but smaller than a tablet. It sits between the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and bigger brothers such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, and ensures you can get a Galaxy in just about any size.

But is it a white elephant? It’s certainly white, for the first time. You can buy the S2 in white too, and a new pink S2 is also on its way.

The lilywhite Note goes on sale on Monday 23 January at John Lewis. The first 100 customers to lay down some notes for a Note win £250 of free music, films and eBooks. Other shops and networks will turn white during February.
