Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could arrive in September

Samsung fans, listen up: a new Galaxy Note 3 phone might be right around the corner. A new report claims the latest phablet device from the Korean tech giant could become a reality in September.

Samsung certainly has made a lot of noise about its newest Galaxy S4 superphone, but another of its popular gadget lines, the Galaxy Note franchise, is sorely overdue for a refresh. Now it appears a Note 3 model is in the works, according to sources close to technology blog Android Geeks.

You may recall that the original Galaxy Note first shook up the mobile device market back in early 2012. Its gargantuan 5.3-inch screen and S Pen stylus were serious head-turners. Less than a year later, Sammy doubled down with the Note 2, which added quad-core processing and an even bigger display (5.5 inches) to the mix.

Like its predecessor, the Note 3 may go larger still, offering a screen measuring 5.7, 5.8, or possibly 6 inches or more. Instead of the 8-megapixel camera sensor the Note 2 now packs, the Note 3 will likely feature a sharper 13-megapixel camera swapped in from the Galaxy S4.

The question remains whether a handset of such mammoth proportions really qualifies as a phone at all and has crossed the line into true tablet territory. Of course, I said the same thing about the first Samsung Galaxy Note as well.
