Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming to O2 in November

Head on over to O2’s coming soon page, and you’ll see a rather nice treat waiting for you… that’s right, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which touches down in November.

There’s no word on pricing, or when in November it’s coming, but rest assured, this baby is just days away.

Phones4U has made the only previous announcement, being the first independent UK mobile retailer to stock the Android phone, though the prices may make your eyes water. The Android super phone will be available from Phones4U for a whopping £46 per month, on a two-year contract. Wow. Or you can pay £29.95 and get it on a £41 a month contract. Not much of a saving there, but when you’re spending this much, every little helps.

Vodafone and Three will also offer the Nexus, though there’s no word on pricing as yet. They’ve also not announced when it’ll be available, so we don’t know if O2 has the jump on them.

The Galaxy Nexus was announced last week. It’s the first smartphone to come packing Ice Cream Sandwich, Google’s latest incarnation of its Android operating system. It sports a whopping 4.65-inch Super AMOLED screen with a ridiculous 100,000:1 contrast ratio, so whites should be scorchingly light, and blacks about as black as they come. It’s also HD, with a resolution of 720×1,280-pixels. And at that size, expect it to look a-ma-zing.

Inside it has a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 32GB of storage, a 1,750mAh battery, as well as NFC tech for communicating with other phones wirelessly. Image-wise, there’s a 5-megapixel camera with face detection, special effects, and rapid-fire, for machine gun-like snapping.
