Ace news! The Samsung Galaxy Ace is now just £135 at Asda, a very tasty price indeed for the popular Android smart phone.
The Ace boasts a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera, and 6.5 hours of talk time. We awarded it a very decent four stars a year ago for its stylish looks and tasty price, which just became even more mouthwatering.
Asda points out that the Ace currently costs £263 at Currys and PC World, although Argos, Amazon and Tesco are also selling it for less than £200.
There are a couple of caveats. Good news if you’re on Vodafone: the discount Ace is locked to Voda. If you’re not, it will need to be unlocked. Sadly, the Ace won’t be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android, and in fact is still on version 2.2 Froyo — but at this price we can’t complain. Android is pretty great anyway, giving you loads of flexibility to customise your phone and access to Google Play, the Android app market packed with fun apps and games.
If you do want a newer version of the Ace, look out for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Ace Plus.
