Samsung at work on dual

Samsung is working on what appears to be a hybrid between a flip phone and smartphone.

Japanese tech site RBMen on Thursday discovered a manual (PDF) on Samsung’s Web site showcasing a device it’s calling the “Galaxy Folder.” The device looks like a standard flip phone from the front, but actually comes with a dual-sided touch screen, allowing for control on both sides of the handset.

If the manual is to be believed, the Galaxy Folder comes with at least one 3.7-inch AMOLED display boasting 800×400 resolution. It’s also running the dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor and supports 4G LTE. The handset also comes with a USB port, a slot for a micro-SIM, and GPS functionality.

The manual doesn’t indicate when the handset might launch.

CNET has contacted Samsung for comment. We will update this story when we have more information.
