According to two separate rumors, Apple has not given up on releasing a white iPhone 4.
After months of production issues, any hope for getting a white iPhone 4 to consumers seemed to be lost. With the passing holiday season and last week’s announcement of the iPhone coming to Verizon, it appeared as though we might have to wait for iPhone 5 to see the latest iOS device in white.
Two sources disagree. Engadget has posted a photograph of an inventory screen from the German telecom company Vodaphone showing the availability of a 16GB and 32GB iPhone 4 in white. Though this rumor alone wouldn’t be much of a head-turner, when corroborated with another rumor from MacRumors, the evidence is compelling.
The photograph of an inventory screen, this time from Best Buy here in the U.S., gives a clearer picture of the two iPhone models that are likely to be available: 16GB and 32GB. In the lower-right of each description is the in-stock date, clearly showing February 27.
To date, there has been no official word from Apple if a white iPhone 4 will be released or if it has been scrapped in favor of waiting until iPhone 5 this summer.
I’m not sure if anyone is still holding out to purchase the white iPhone 4. But, if you’re one of them, are you going to buy one should it be made available on February 27? Or will you wait until this summer for the iPhone 5? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
