Quickly upload photos to Facebook by pasting the image URL

How many times have you downloaded a picture from the Web, only to re-upload it to Facebook? With the number of meme images showing up in the News Feed lately, this time-consuming task is probably happening more than ever.

Here’s the step-by-step:

  1. In your browser, right-click the image you want to upload and select “Copy image URL.” (The exact wording may vary on any given browser.)
  2. Head to Facebook and click Add Photo/Video. Click Upload Photo/Video.
  3. Click Choose File, and in the dialog box, in the field next to “File name” paste the image URL. Click Open, and you’re set! All that’s left to do is write a clever caption and post the image.

This may be a Windows-specific function, but we’ll update you if an OS X solution is found. Meanwhile, we’re crossing our fingers in hopes that Facebook integrates this URL upload option in its platform.
