While the official launch might be scheduled for 4 September, photos of Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smart watch arrived a little earlier.
Overnight, VentureBeat posted still images captured from an “internal promotional marketing video” about the Galaxy Gear.
The device in the images is reportedly a prototype that was sent to developers. The video that the screen captures came from was made by an “independent team” that’s working with Samsung, according to the VentureBeat report.
The images show off the Gear’s roughly 3-inch OLED screen displaying a variety of apps, including what appears to be a heart monitor.
The VentureBeat story also reinforced the rumours regarding the 4-megapixel camera and 10-hour battery life, as well as adding some new information. It seems that in addition to connecting to Android devices via Bluetooth, the Gear will have its own Wi-Fi for net connectivity, even without a paired smart phone.
