Pantech Hotshot for Verizon keeps it sleek, simple

With a name like Hotshot, one would think that Verizon’s newest handset would have an impressive feature set and a lot of swagger, but it’s actually quite the opposite, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The Pantech Hotshot is more of a basic phone and boasts a slim design (it measures just 0.35-inch thick) and a 3.2-inch touch screen, with three customizable home screens. The usual messaging options are available, as well as the Opera Mini Browser for those who want to surf the Web.

Other goodies include a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, and a preinstalled 2GB microSD card.

The Hotshot will be available online starting October 6 for $99.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
