Palm Pre Plus (Verizon Wireless)

3:31

Palm didn’t make quite as big of a splash at CES 2010 as it did the previous year, but the company still had plenty of news to share, including the introduction of the Palm Pre Plus and the Palm Pixi Plus.

Both WebOS devices will be launching on Verizon Wireless on January 25 and bring improvements over their Sprint counterparts. The Palm Pre Plus is the more exciting of the two, offering double the memory, a more streamlined design, and a better keyboard than the original Pre. Meanwhile, the Pixi Plus didn’t receive a makeover, but it did get the one major feature addition: Wi-Fi.

We’ve had a chance to check out both smartphones for a couple of days now, and though the changes might not be as dramatic or as exciting as some might have hoped for, they are a step in the right direction. The Palm Pre Plus will cost $149.99 with a two-year contract and after $100 mail-in rebate, while the Palm Pixi Plus will cost $99.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Verizon will also be having a promotion through February 14 where if you buy a Palm Pre Plus or a Palm Pixi Plus, you can get a Pixi Plus for free after a mail-in rebate. Pique your interest did we? Well then, find out more about these devices in our full reviews, which includes information about the new Palm Mobile Hot spot app and data plans.
