Optus is now offering a variety of SIM-only plans for customers who are happy with their existing phone or who have inherited a recycled phone.

The plans are available in two options: month-to-month post-paid in two pricing tiers, or a 12-month contract.

This brings Optus more or less into line with Vodafone’s SIM Only, which has plans ranging from AU$20 to AU$85 with comparable benefits, and places it competitively against Telstra, whose BYO Mobile plans start at AU$50.

The 12-month plan is available for an introductory price AU$60 until 30 June 2013, after which it will revert to AU$65. You can check out the plans and sign up on the Optus website.
