in brief Australian telco, Optus, has today announced the third Android-powered Motorola-branded smartphone in its range, the Motorola Quench, and its intention of selling the phone at its lowest per month pricing tier.

The Moto Quench is available exclusively through Optus for $0 upfront on an AU$19 per month Optus Social cap, over a 24-month commitment. The AU$19 Social Cap includes unlimited access to social networking features via the MotoBlur software installed on the phone, as well as AU$55 per month in credit to spend on national calls and messaging.
This latest Motorola touchscreen features almost identical specifications to the previously released Motorola Dext, minus the Dext’s full-QWERTY slide-out keyboard. Both phones feature Motorola’s MotoBlur social networking software, which aggregates a user’s latest messages from popular social networks Facebook and Twitter onto the home screen of the phone as well as allowing users to update their status messages without launching a separate application.
