A few more details about the supersecure Blackphone surfaced on Monday, most notably that Nvidia’s 2GHz quad-coreTegra 4i chipset will power the privacy-focused handset.
The processor, which is based on ARM’s Cortex-A9 r4 CPU, contains 60 GPU cores, and an integrated i500 LTE modem.
Blackphone’s maker, SGP Technologies, has also announced the phone’s front-facing camera spec, a 5-megapixel shooter on the phone face.
Other specs include a 4.7-inch screen with 1,280×800-pixel resolution, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 16GB of onboard storage, and 1GB of RAM.
As important as specs are in predicting performance, the Blackphone’s software is its main attraction, most notably the PrivatOS built on top of Android 4.4 KitKat.
