We’ve snatched a glimpse of the Nokia Lumia 928 before, and now here it is again, on what looks like a billboard. I say looks like, because there’s no way to know if this is genuine. It appears to be in the middle of Mad Max country, so perhaps a pinch of salt is required.
The snap was sent to My Nokia Blog (not my Nokia blog), and shows the Finnish firm claiming the handset has the best low-light camera performance of any smart phone. Quite some claim.
So what could it mean? It could be referring to the xenon flash on the back, as seen on the earlier leaked snaps. Or it could mean we’ll see some PureView tech find its way into the phone. Nokia has an event planned for 14 May right here in Blighty, where we’ll “See What’s Next” according to the invite. And if you were in any doubt as to what that is, the tagline “The Nokia Lumia Story Continues” should provide a rather large phone-shaped clue.
According to the previous leak, the Lumia 928 looks very similar to the Lumia 920, but is slightly thinner, at just 10.2mm at its slimmest. It also has a curved back, and instead of an LCD, it’ll have a 4.5-inch OLED screen. That aside, the specs are very similar, with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor whirring away, 32GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM.
The Lumia 928 will also have a polycarbonate frame, in place of the 920’s aluminium one.
The billboard shows the Lumia 928 is heading for US network Verizon, so there’s a chance we might not see the handset reach these shores. But considering the event on 14 May is being held in London, I’d say us Brits should be able to buy the Lumia 928.
What do you think of the phone? Is it ready to usurp the 920 as Nokia’s next flagship? Let me know in the comments, or on Facebook.
