Nokia Lumia 900 update includes flip

If you wish your Nokia Lumia 900 did a little bit more, you may be in luck. Nokia began rolling out another update today to its premier, polycarbonate smartphone that includes a few little enhancements like the popular and ever-useful muting of calls when you flip the phone face-down.

Unfortunately, these aren’t over-the-air changes; you’ll need to update using the desktop Zune software.

In terms of major platform development, the Lumia 900 and its Lumia 710 cousin are, unfortunately, reaching a dead end. Although they will receive an update to Windows Phone 7.8, they won’t be upgradable to Windows Phone 8. However, Nokia and Microsoft are hosting a launch event early next month where they’ll be expected to showcase their next Windows phone, which should have an HD screen and a dual-core processor.
