Nokia Lumia 625 is 4.7

Nokia has cranked out another cheap Lumia phone, but this one has a few superpowers snuck up its sleeves — it’s massive, and has 4G capabilities.

While it looks a lot like Nokia’s previous Lumia efforts, this is actually the biggest Windows Phone that our favourite Finns have built to date. It has a 4.7-inch display, guaranteed to stretch your palms to exciting new proportions.

The display resolution isn’t quite as enticing as the size however — that panel packs 480×800 pixels, which isn’t a particularly high resolution. That could mean that photos, video and web pages don’t look as pin-sharp as they will on competing mobiles.

That drop in resolution will be keeping the price down, however. Also expect to see Nokia’s usual line-up of own-brand maps software and other Windows-flavoured treats. 4G hardware means you’ll get theoretically speedier data, though you may have to pay for a pricier contract.

Though the price is impressive, shoppers will still be wise to weigh up the merits of the 625 against the Nexus 4, which costs a mere £239.

The Lumia 625 will be out in the UK in September, for the bargain price of around £200 SIM-free, we’re told. It’ll be available to snap up from EE, Vodafone, O2, Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse.
