A picture and a countdown posted on the hardware maker’s website tell us that something is expect to launch in but a few days’ time. As to what isn’t overly obvious, clues and a bunch of green suggest a new Android-powered handset. And if you follow this space closely, you’ll know this means the so-called X2 is in order.

According to recently discovered specifications, the second-gen Android-based smartphone figures to up the ante ever so slightly from the current model. Details may include a 4.3-inch display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM.

While these specifications won’t necessarily make tech-savvy smartphone users “green with envy”, it may matter little to Microsoft-purchased Nokia. The countdown expires on Tuesday morning, so be sure to check back with CNET for early reactions to the news.
