Nexus 5 alleged service manual reveals key specs

An alleged LG service document leaked online spilled the beans on the Nexus 5.

Posted on Scribd, the manual is geared toward service technicians and offers a lot of technical troubleshooting diagrams and steps. Some of the phone’s major specs are also laid out.

Based on the manual, LG’s Nexus 5 will include a 4.95-inch 1,920×1,080 IPS (in-plane switching) screen, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and 2GB of RAM. Internal storage will be available in both 16GB and 32GB.

The 8-megapixel rear camera will be equipped with optical image stabilization, which tries to sharpen photos made blurry by shaking hands. A 1.3-megapixel camera will face front.

All of the expected cellular flavors will be supported, including CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, and LTE, according to the manual. The necessary chips for NFC (near-field communications) will also be included. A 2300mAh battery provides a slight boost in power over the battery in the Nexus 4, while the phone can be charged wirelessly.

Some of these details, such as the processor and wireless charging, have been reported through other sources, but assuming the service manual is accurate, the specs now come directly from LG.

The Nexus 5 could make its debut before the end of October.
