If you’ve been dreaming of Ice Cream Sandwich smartphones, the 2012 Mobile World Congress promises to be quite the party.
Early this morning, ZTE announced that it would reveal two Android 4.0 devices at the annual wireless trade show, which begins February 27 in Barcelona. On the outside, the candy bar designs don’t appear to be particularly noteworthy, but the photos show an Ice Cream Sandwich interface.
The ZTE PF200 promises a 4.3 inch QHD capacitive touch-screen, an 8-megapixel camera, a 1080p front-facing camera for video calling, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, and HDMI-out. LTE support is onboard, as well, though ZTE didn’t reveal the exact bands that the PF200 will use.

Specs on the ZTE N910 are slightly toned down. There’s a WVGA capacitive touch screen, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and a flash camera, a 1080p front-facing camera for video calling, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, support for 3G (EV-DO) networks, and DLNA streaming capability.
In its press release the company said that the phones will have “1.2GHz and 1.5GHz chipsets,” but it didn’t offer more specific details at this point. ZTE also didn’t announce pricing, regional availability, or release dates.

ZTE’s announcement further demonstrates that the Chinese-based company is trying to aggressively build its portfolio. It has made some headway into the U.S market with with entry-level devices, mostly with regional carriers.
The company hasn’t scheduled a Mobile World Congress press conference, but it promises to show off the PF200 and N910 at its booth. A large CNET team will be on the ground in Barcelona so check back beginning February 26 for more details and hands-on impressions.
