Vaya launches 4G service

Budget mobile service provider Vaya is now offering 4G connectivity via the Optus network.

There are a number of budget mobile telcos on the market, including offerings from Aldi and Kogan, but Vaya is the first to offer data via a 4G network.

The SIM-only provider is using the Optus 4G network to offer both standard mobile plans and data-only options aimed at tablet users.

The data-only plans begin at AU$33 per month for 10GB of data and head up to 20GB for AU$73 per month.

Vaya also allows users of its “power plans” to buy additional data allowances at any time for AU$7 per GB.

In a media statement, Ben Pullen, CEO of Vaya, said:

Vaya has seen tremendous growth in the last two years since our launch. Our business strategy has always been about providing consumers with the very best and most cost-effective mobile and data plans. [Our] launch into the 4G space is testament to that, and we expect to see similar success.
