It appears that Samsung is not the only handset manufacturer tied to a big IFA announcement next month.
Now we’re getting word of a possible new Sony smartphone called the Mint. But these are more than just blurry rumor shots; tech blog Mobile Review has published a full analysis of the device replete with dozens of photos and screen shots.
Listed with a LT30p model number, the Mint reportedly features a number of high-end specifications, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and 4.3-inch HD display. Other key hardware details include 1GB RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, front-facing camera, microSD expansion, and Bluetooth 4.0. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Mint is just 0.35 inch thick and weighs less than 5 ounces.

Considering that the photos and photos look legitimate, we expect Sony to announce the phone in short order. Indeed, the company has already sent invitations for a soiree that takes place on the eve of IFA. Perhaps the Mint will be on the agenda.
As GSMArena reminds us, there are a number of other potential models that could make the trip to Berlin. Readers may recall rumblings of a high-end LT29i Hayabusa with a 4.55-inch 720p HD display and a 13-megapixel camera with high dynamic range. We’re also advised to keep an eye out for an entry-level ST26i Xperia J and LT26ii Xperia SL.
Last year Sony unveiled no less than four Android products, so chances are good that 2012 could be equally busy.
