With just days to go until Samsung’s Galaxy S3 goes on sale, the Korean company has released pictures of its PIN pop-up shop, where you’ll be able to get hands-on with the device.
The pop-ups will be popping up all over London. The first two locations are the Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush (not the one in Stratford, where the Samsung store will be selling the device a day early), and Old Spitalfields Market. More locations will be announced later, with larger 7×7-metre versions making an appearance.
As well as the S3, the pop-ups promise to showcase other Samsung flagship devices, so you can expect the Note and some versions of its Galaxy Tab family to make an appearance too.
The PINs will open on 29 May, a day before the S3 goes on sale nationwide. The one pictured here is in the Westfield centre in Shepherd’s Bush, judging from the logos in the background.
Samsung unveiled the PINs to a bemused audience at its Galaxy S3 launch earlier in the month. Part of the problem was it saved the announcement until the end of the presentation, which is typically where Apple gives its “one more thing” spiel. Then the curtain didn’t rise all the way up, which hampered its grand unveiling somewhat.
Then there’s the experience of the unit itself. It was a bit like a cross between a smokers’ pen at an airport and a greenhouse. Granted, at the S3 launch the crowds were massing, but if the weather stays like it is, and they’re popular, expect to be hot and bothered if you venture in.
But they do look quite cool. And it’s a chance to play with the S3, which scored an awesome four-and-a-half out of five in our review, so if you pick a quiet time you should be alright.
