What could be the first Windows Phone 7 mobile has leaked on to the Web. We’ve had a tantalising glimpse of the specs for the Samsung Cetus, also known as the SGH-i917.
The specs for the Cetus were turned up the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, although no-one has yet confirmed whether the name was inspired by Cletus the slack-jawed yokel. Cetus isn’t a million miles away from the name of your favourite technology Web site, either…
The Cetus will sport a capacitive multitouch 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It has a 5-megapixel camera and VGA front-facing camera. We don’t know much else, and there aren’t any pictures yet (the one above is our mockup), but Microsoft has a long shopping list of minimum requirements for phones that will run the Windows Phone 7 operating system. So we know the Cetus will also boast an FM radio, Wi-Fi 802.11n and at least 8GB of built-in storage.
Whether the Cetus will beat other Windows Phone 7 handsets to the shops is unclear. We’ve already had a glimpse of an unnamed LG demo phone, and there’s still plenty of time before Windows Phone 7 arrives at the end of this year.
