The Nokia Lumia 710 could be available in the UK in the first week of January, if a listing from one online retailer is to be believed.
Somobile spotted that online phone-flogger Digital-phone.co.uk is listing the Windows Phone-powered mobile with a release date of 6 January — mere weeks away.
We’d take that date with a pinch of salt, as dates on retail sites are very much subject to change. We’ve asked Nokia for an update, and we’re waiting for them to get back to us.
The Lumia 710 is a cheaper version of Nokia’s Lumia 800, which went on sale recently and won the hearts of many, including our own Rich Trenholm.
The 710 doesn’t have the same slick design as the Lumia 800, but it does have the same 1.4GHz processor on the inside, and also features interchangable covers! Remember them? It’ll be like 1998 all over again.
With a 3.7-inch screen and a 5-megapixel camera, the 710’s specs aren’t particularly mind-bending. If you’ve had your eye on the Lumia 800 and can’t quite afford it, this is definitely one to keep an eye on. We awarded the Lumia 800 four stars, so we’ve got high hopes for the 710.
As for the all-important launch date, we’ll keep you informed if we hear anything. Meanwhile we’ve also got our eye on an as-yet-unannounced Nokia effort, the Lumia 900.
We’ll be bringing you a full review of the Nokia Lumia 710 as soon as possible — in the meantime have your say in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
