Nexus 5 also coming in white, leaked packaging pics hint

Averse to buying glossy black smart phones? You may be in luck, as Google’s upcoming Nexus 5 may be coming in white.

Pictures that appear to portray the Nexus 5’s packaging were spied by Phandroid, seemingly having surfaced at Korean-language site Underkg.com.

In the purported pictures of the Nexus 5 boxes, which you can see above, it appears that the white version of Google’s next flagship Android phone will keep its regular black front, but bring a snowy-hued rear to the party.

There’s no guarantee that these photos are real, so as with all tech rumours, we’d recommend taking these snaps with a pinch of salt.

That said, Google is no stranger to white mobiles — The Nexus 4 came in both black and white, for instance, and offered the same two-tone look for its white variant. Up until now, all the leaked snaps of the much-anticipated mobile have portrayed a black smart phone.

The next Nexus will likely make its debut this month, alongside Android 4.4 KitKat — the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. Cryptic clues have tech fans guessing at the Nexus 5’s arrival date, while accessories listings online hint that the longed-for smart phone could be on sale before the end of the month.

Very recently we got our first official look at the Nexus 5, when Google posted details of the phone to Google Play, shortly before taking them down again.

In the short time the listing was online, we gleaned that the Nexus 5 will cost $349. That equates to roughly £215, but there’s no word yet on what the exact UK price will be.

What are you hoping to see in the next Nexus? Would you buy a black model, or opt for white? Stick your speculation in the comments, or over on our Facebook wall.
