The last few months have given way to plenty of rumors, leaks, benchmarks, and conjecture for Motorola’s Moto X successor. But, for all that we think we know about the device, there’s one thing we’ve yet to see: what the Moto X+1 actually looks like.

The gang over at Android Police have obtained photos of a device purported to be the Moto X+1, and guess what? It looks just like the original X, the Moto G , and the Moto E .

These particular pictures show a wooden backside with an aluminum trim around the edges. This particular device is reportedly a “near-final prototype.”

The Moto X+1 display is alleged to span 5.1 inches, up from the 4.7-inch screen found in the Moto X. Another noticeable difference in the new model is the inclusion of dual front-facing speakers. Other than these, it would be easy to confuse this for any other late model Moto.

It’s worth pointing out that, while the prototype features a wood-grain back plate, there should be other options for customers at launch, like plastic colors as well as tightly-stretched leather.

Based on benchmarks and other rumors, the phone is expected to be a modest step up from last year’s model. Specifications could include a 1080p display, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Internally,we could get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, and a 2,900mAh battery.

As to when we’ll see the announcement of the Moto X+1, it appears to be drawing close. We’re nearing the one-year anniversary of the Moto X, as well as the X+1’s expected “summer” launch. It’s possible that Motorola may wait for the Moto 360 smartwatch debut to introduce the phone.
