Does “c” stand for “cheap”? That might be the case for the LG G4c, which looks like a smaller and less expensive version of its flagship G4 smartphone, according to German retail website 0815.eu.

Based on the specifications listed online, LG has apparently scaled back on nearly all aspects of the G4 to make the G4c. While it does bear a physical likeness with the same body shape and faceted metallike backing, the specs are a generation or two behind.

The G4c will reportedly feature a 5-inch 720p HD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and 8GB of internal storage. Powering the show, we’re likely looking at a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB RAM, which is common for entry-level smartphones.

Other specs include a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which is generous, a microSD expansion card slot and a 2,540mAh battery. Alleged to run Android 5.0, we might also look for LG’s UX 4.0 software enhancements.

It is not uncommon these days to see a company launch a flagship model followed by smaller, and even sometimes bigger, variations. The LG G3 had a number of siblings over the last year, including the G3S and G3 Vigor . For all we know, the G4c is just the starting point for 2015.

It isn’t immediately clear if the G4c will be offered outside of Germany or Europe. CNET has contacted LG for comment or clarification and will update with any new information.
