LG has been making some impressive noises about a new range of smart phones, and the latest leak is of a Windows Phone 7 which could be carrying a mighty 1.3GHz Snapdragon processor.
Polish website Android.com.pl published pictures and videos of the LG E900, which has a 3.7-inch capacitive TFT LCD display and is said to be carrying a 1.3GHz Qualcomm QSD8650A system-on-chip. Engadget describes it as a ‘Snapdragon with the training wheels taken off.’
Engadget said that this promises ‘better 2D and 3D graphics acceleration, integrated GPS, HD video recording and playback’. The phone also has a light sensor, proximity sensor and mini USB slot.
The LG E900 joined the Polish website’s discovery of the LG E720 this weekend, which ran on Android 2.2 Froyo using a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and a 3.2 inch touch screen.
Exactly one week ago, we took a look at another leaked smart phone running Windows Phone 7 in the LG C900, but this one carried a Qwerty slider.
All three phones should have Wi-Fi, GPS and a 5 megapixel camera as a minimum.
These three aren’t likely to be the last LG smart phones to sneak out of the shadows, with the Korean company already declaring that it would release ten new devices at the end of the year, as well as an Android tablet.
The 1.3GHz boost to the E900 wouldn’t be a huge surprise, as Qualcomm already announced that 1.5GHz processors would be available by the end of the year. But LG does seem to be focusing a lot on hardware — it also announced that its new LG Optimus Android range would run on Nvidia’s new chip technology.
As well as pictures, Android.com.pl was also good enough to include a video of the phone running Windows Phone 7, embedded at the bottom of this story.
Has LG got a winner on its hands, and do you think the 1.3GHz processor will make any difference? And would you go for the E900/ C900 running Windows Phone 7, or the LG E720 with Android 2.2?
You’re spoilt for choice. Let us know.
