HTC plans to update its One X, One S, and One XL smartphones with Android 4.1, also known as Jelly Bean, the company confirmed to Engadget today.
HTC confirmed the upgrade plans, but unfortunately didn’t provide any specific detail on timing to CNET.
The company also said the updates would come to versions sold by AT&T, T-Mobile, and Rogers.

Updates to the latest version of Android have been a sore spot for consumers and handset vendors. They often come frustratingly slow, held up by the carrier approval process, as well as the need to integrate the new version of Android with the custom skin. In HTC’s case, it’s the Sense user interface that adds an extra wrinkle to the process.
The One series of smartphones is an important component to HTC’s comeback plans. The phones are framed as its top line of smartphones, and was an attempt to simplify its lineup into fewer, better products. The company, however, has continued to make other products including the Evo 4G LTE and Droid Incredible 4G LTE.
There was no word on whether those phones would get an update.
