A pair of unannounced high-powered HTC phones were spied in the wild over the long weekend, tipping the hands of both AT&T and T-Mobile. Featuring cutting-edge hardware specifications, the HTC Holiday and HTC Amaze 4G should find themselves near the top of the smartphone food chain later this year.
T-Mobile customers will have their choice of two super phones come October 26, according to rumors out of TmoNews. Not only does the Samsung Galaxy S II make its long-awaited debut, but also HTC is set to offer an equally powerful Amaze 4G on the same day.
Also known by its code name of HTC Ruby, the device is said to feature a 4.3inch qHD (960×540-pixel) display, a dualcore 1.5GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. And like many of today’s top Android phones, the handset also boasts 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
Clear pictures of the HTC Ruby surfaced over Labor Day weekend when DroidSans indicated that HTC was testing a new Android device capable of DC-HSPA+ speeds. T-Mobile has been rumored to be launching the device in late October, which would support the carrier’s theoretical 42Mbps data transfers.
Over on the AT&T front, the HTC Holiday was spied pulling nearly 30Mbps download speeds. Rumors have pegged this handset with a dualcore 1.2GHZ CPU, a 4.5-inch qHD display, and an 8-megapixel camera, all of which were confirmed by a recent BGR source.
Of course, with data speeds this fast, the phone also supports AT&T’s 4G LTE network. In terms of software, the Holiday is said to include Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and HTC’s custom user interface, Sense 3.0.
