New Nexus phones could be just around the corner: Google on Friday sent out invitations to a press event to be held Tuesday, September 29, in San Francisco.
Though Google hasn’t offered any clues as to what’s in store, people familiar with the company’s plans told CNET that we can expect two versions of the Nexus smartphone: a large model developed by Huawei, and a smaller device built by LG. These devices would be the first to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A recent report also suggested there could be a new version of the Google Chromecast.
Plenty of questions remain: There’s no word on price, though “sources” have provided some possible information about the mystery phones’ specifications. The Nexus 5X is reportedly being developed by LG and would feature a 5.2-inch display, while Huawei’s larger Nexus 6P would feature a 5.7-inch screen.
September 29 is just a few weeks away and we’ve got our invites, so check back soon for more.
