Rumored for an October release, the HTC Desire HD made an appearance over the weekend. The smartphone, which also carries a code name of “Ace,” is expected to run Android 2.2 and feature a 4.3-inch touch screen, a 1GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. Other details include 4GB internal memory, HD video playback, XviD video support, SRS surround sound, and a uni-body aluminum case.
The first glimpse of the phone came in the form of a leaked image (translated), which showed only the front of the device. As expected, it looks very similar to Sprint’s Evo 4G. A day later, the folks at 247Android posted a quick video that offered a rather detailed look at the back of the handset. The uni-body design and rubberized accents feel like a mashup of the Legend, Desire and Evo 4G.
As of right now, we don’t have any indications as to which carriers or countries will offer the Desire HD. Given roughly two months before we can expect to see some sort of official announcements, there’s plenty of time for the details to leak out.
