AT&T reveals pricing, release date for Motorola Atrix 4G

Not to be outdone by Verizon iPhone, AT&T unveiled some juicy details about the Motorola Atrix 4G today.

The dual-core Android 2.2 smartphone will be available for preorder starting February 13 for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and an expected ship date of March 6 or earlier.

In addition, for those wanting the Motorola Laptop Dock, AT&T will offer a bundled package (phone and dock) for $499.99 with a two-year contract and Data Pro data plan and tethering add-on and after a $100 mail-in rebate. If you choose to buy the dock separately, that will cost you, well, $499.99.

As demonstrated at CES 2011, the accessory allows you to connect your smartphone to an laptop shell, so you can continue to browse the Web, view media, send e-mail, and so forth with a full keyboard and larger screen.

AT&T will offer one additional bundle package: The Entertainment Access Kit, which includes the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and a remote control, all for $189.99.

Aside from Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 chipset, the Motorola Atrix 4G supports the carrier’s HSPA+ network and features a 4-inch qHD touch screen, 16GB onboard memory, a 5-megapixel camera/720p camcorder and front-facing VGA camera, and HDMI-out.

The Atrix 4G is a stacked device, and we’re definitely excited to check it out. The $200 price tag for the smartphone seems fair, but the cost of the dock makes me wince. What do you guys think of the pricing? Anyone going to preorder it on February 13?
