Weston-super-Mare is now Weston-super-Fast as EE brings 4G to 11 more towns.
You can now benefit from extra-speedy Internet on your phone or tablet if you live in Aldershot, Basildon, Basingstoke, Bracknell, Hitchin, Horsham, Leatherhead, Letchworth, Stevenage, Warrington and Weston-super-Mare.
That takes EE’s 4G LTE service to 85 towns and cities across Britain, reaching 55 per cent of the population from Bournemouth to Edinburgh, from Belfast to Southend-on-sea.
EE is the first 4G service in the UK, having launched eight months ago. The other major networks, including Three, O2 and Vodafone, are poised to launch their own 4G services but they’re apparently in no rush.
EE isn’t resting on its laurels, doubling speeds in ten cities — starting this week with the Tech City — also known as Silicon Roundabout — area of East London. The network has also introduced data-share deals for friends and family, PAYG data, and home broadband. Oh, and it’s providing free Wi-Fi at Glastonbury this weekend — from the back of a tractor.
