The HTC Zara is alleged to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.5 UI, and would also feature a plastic shell. Despite the cheaper material, the device could maintain some of the same design cues found in the HTC One and HTC One Mini.
According to the source, the HTC Zara will have a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540-pixel) display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and a 2,100mAh battery. Departing a bit from the HTC One series, the phone is also listed as having an 8-megapixel rear camera and a microSD expansion slot.
The HTC Zara is slated to arrive in the coming weeks if rumors prove true, likely around the same time as the also-rumored HTC One Max. In terms of pricing, the more modest hardware suggests a lower price point, perhaps something in the sub-$100 range. Based on earlier reports, Sprint will carry the device in the United States.
