Motorola updates Android Jelly Bean plans

Good news to anyone who’s hungry for Jelly Bean: Motorola recently modified a customer support page that outlines the various devices expected to receive Android updates.

The Motorola Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD are the latest to see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, both of which are reflected on the support page. Looking ahead, the Atrix HD will be next in line to see the update, slated for later this month.

Motorola’s tentative plans for Android 4.0 and 4.1 updates.

Moving into the new year, the Electrify M and both versions of the Xoom tablet should see an update prompt in Q1. As an owner of the first-ever Honeycomb tablet, I for one am glad to see Motorola continuing to support this device.

Other products that should see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update down the road include the Razr, Razr Maxx, Droid 4, Droid Bionic, Photon Q, and Electrify 2.

Keep in mind that while Motorola does anticipate new updates, things in the world of software upgrades are always subject to change.

If you’re stuck with a Motorola device that won’t make the jump to Android 4.X, you may be eligible for a $100 rebate. Just think of all the jelly beans you can buy yourself for a hundred bucks.
