It’s going to be a busy few weeks for Motorola, which is expected to unveil a new family of Droid smartphones with Verizon Wireless next week. But Moto X represents Motorola’s true flagship smartphone, and is likely to generate the majority of the buzz and benefit from the resources of Google.
Moto X is expected to be a customizable smartphone that consumers will be able to order. Rather than a high-end smartphone, the device is expected to be more affordable. The company also has made some noise about its manufacturing facility in the U.S.
The company has a long ways to go before it turns itself around. Motorola posted a $342 million loss in the second quarter, weighing down parent Google’s profits.
