These Motorola leaks just keep coming thick and fast. Earlier today there was news of the Xoom 2 Media Edition, then the Atrix 2, that’ll come with docks you can use with other Moto mobiles.
Now official pics have emerged of a new handset, known as the Motorola Spyder, or possibly the Droid Razr (the name isn’t finalised yet), as busted out by This Is My Next. That’s right, the Razr is back, and it’s packing a world first in mobile phone screens.
That screen is a 4.3-inch, 960×540-pixel qHD Super AMOLED display. Phew, quite a mouthful. The qHD part has been seen before, on the HTC Sensation and HTC Evo 3D, among others, as has the Super AMOLED part, on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, but never have the two met. Until now. Okay, you get the point, not to be too bombastic, it should be a super sharp and bright display, and at a decent size too.
It’ll be rugged as well, with Gorilla Glass, a Kevlar case and a splash-guard coating. Protected within that rock-hard shell is a 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, and on the back is an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video. The front-facing camera is also said to be HD, which means you’d better look your best when video chatting.
It’s also compatible with Motorola’s Webtop range of docks, just like the Atrix and Atrix 2, so just slot it into the Lapdock and — hey presto — it’s a laptop. The Lapdock seems to be getting a refresh with the launch of the Atrix 2, but there’s no word on the others yet. We’ll bring you more as we get it.
Earlier more details leaked on the Xoom 2, including that it’s just 9mm thin, and that a smaller Media Edition is also incoming. The Atrix 2 also looks to be pretty official, judging from the images. There’s no word on a UK release on any of these, but we’ll bring you more as we get it.
