LG’s G Flex won’t be stuck in its home market of South Korea.
The unique curved phone will be heading to the US, according to a person familiar with the phone’s launch plans.
It’s still unclear which carriers will actually sell the G Flex, but Twitter account @evleaks — which has demonstrated an accurate track record of product scoops — said earlier on Wednesday that it “confirmed” the phone would head to AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

AT&T and T-Mobile declined to comment on the speculation. CNET contacted LG’s US arm, as well as Sprint for comment, and we’ll update the story when either company responds.

The G Flex made a splash not only for its curved display, but its “self-healing” backing that supposedly fixes scratches in seconds. In some cases, the Wolverine-like body garnered even more interest than the unique display.
LG, meanwhile, has steadily built buzz for its products. Beyond the G Flex, it also manufactured the Nexus 5 with Google, a hot phone that consumers apparently can’t get enough of. The company has picked up market share thanks to a focus on mid-range phones as well as high end devices like its G2.
